The Pacific Ocean copped its name from Portugese explorer Ferdinand Magellan. He called it Tepre Pacificum, which means 'peaceful sea' in his native tongue. Old Ferdy can't have been anywhere near the shores of Hawaii when he coined that term, or near this place either, for that matter.
Just where this place is, I'm not at liberty to tell. 'Apenas um ponto em cima do tepre pacificum', as Ferdy might have said. Or, 'It's just a dot upon the peaceful sea'.
